His Presence

I was astonished but nervous
And all the words that
I want to say but didn't
Because I'm meeting
A man who is the father
of the woman I want to be with,
A man who is very special yet
Close to her heart,
A man who have seen her grow
And flourished.

I rarely admire men
But he was exceptional
Not just he is the the father
Of the woman I love
But a man who accepts all
The pain and challenges
Just to raise his own children.

As I begin to speak
My heart stop
And suddenly raises it's beat,
My mind were completely blank
But he made me feel
Welcome as if
he had known me for years.

At the end of the conversation
I was relieved and happy
He gave me permission
To see his lovely daughter.
