Paper's Purpose

A blank page
That smiles at you
It's lined forehead
It's blank stare
This page is a person
It smiles at you through the ink smudges
Look at it at its beautiful pale skin
Look at the white glow
It's a beautiful colour
So bright
So white
The pages eyes are so big
So bright
They are always bright
They watch in amazement at us as we write
They start at the words we write
Trying to understand what these words mean
They don't know
Battling to understand they give up
They still smile at us
But it's smile is different
It holds understanding now
It understands that we need it in our lives
It knows we need it to write
Isnt that right
