Which Road To Take?

A lot of people my age think we’re doomed!
Looking around with little to call theirs,
Nothing to own as assets!
Wandering and Panicking,
Time moving fast,
Thinking they wasted the past.
If you’ve ever visited New Orleans or Kampala,
You’ll will know how it feels
Turning 25 with nothing in heels!

A lot of people my age think I’m mixing the two..
Doing poetry and law confuses them too..
If Law connives poetry, then there’s no need to think:
It’s glued with the voices of the weak

Like Robert frost in a not taken road!
Long I stand along two diverged roads..
It’s a pity I couldn’t travel both!
To be that one traveler waving goodbye,
Taking the road less traveled by
But before that, I will give the other a try!

A lot of people my age think Mama’s right
That she’s an elder with a Godly sight
She only has money for law books,
Paying a deaf ear to my staccato lyrics!

Like a maze runner trapped in a nest
Being that one man;
Who flew but kept silent
More than one dream for the youth
Like a call on a telephone booth
Standing! Panicking!
To be taken by whoever inspires better
Keeping another road to be traveled later
But I doubt if I’ll ever come back.

Poet's note: Many Youth get perturbed on which careers to take and those to leave. Most of them are trapped at the center with more than two careers to take on and the influence of their parents .
