Let Yesterday Go

On board the ship
Finally, I sail
to the cities of my past
The waves takes me nautical miles away
and lands me on the shores of my memory

I stare at my own mind
Looking at what I kept safe since I was nine
With my own bitter reminisce I dine

My activities from day one reflects
I sob as the movie plays because I couldn't detect

I travel through and through
Then I felt I was through
Obviously, it wasn't true

So I halt
Looking for who to put the fault
Oh, I was in search of myself
But i wasn't found

I'm lost in amending yesterday
I failed,
Instead, I was breaking my today

In the end, I can't mend yesterday
I can only create tomorrow.

Poet's note: I can not change yesterday’s mistakes, but I spend time trying to, only to discover I’m destroying my tomorrow.
