Caged

Do you think I will be happy in a cage?
I perform all day, though, I get no wage.
To the cage, you can limit me,
but not my wish to be free.

I have my own life, I want to
break free from the cage and never see you.
What is the use of these wings?
I have forgotten all the learnt sings!

Poet's note: I wrote this poem on the 30th of April, 2020. I had a parrot, so, keeping him in mind, I wrote this poem. I, as a curious being, observed the movements of my parrot. For the first few days, I was happy. But as days passed by, I realised the longing he had in his eyes. He demanded freedom.
