Only Children Dream

Dreams are for children who have yet to face
the dawn, for fear it might blind them them with
its truth, then their dreams...would be gone!

True peace when shielded from the World's evil
by ignorance and age but once an adult, no one can
save you from Life's corrupting and greedy rage!

Innocence is shattered! Youth's mirror fragments
fall. Tiny splinters marking each moment
of happiness fade till there is nothing but truth
and pain left.

Hardly worth going on now. If
you can't hurdle the many obstacles set before
you by adulthood, you're bound to fall!

A smile is now a sign of deceit and excuses,
plain immaturity! You should know better by
now young lad, or should I say man?

That's right child in an adult's body, you should
have taken your dreams and RAN!
