Mental Madness

Outside the World goes by, but I
sit helplessly tortured, locked inside
my twisted mind!

I can't scream for help because
no one, not even myself, knows what
ails me.

I can't escape, for the bars have
been strengthened over the course of
many painful years, holding me fast.

Sub-consciously, I know what my problem
is but if I ever told anyone, they'd
never believe me or understand!

They'd lock me away for questioning
and conforming or call me an outcast;
not even a MAN!

"You're INSANE", they'd scream!

Awake young child. You'll be alright
now. Why are you shivering and scared?
You were only having a bad dream.

GOODNIGHT!
