A Mother's Love

If she had her way, there would be
no rainy days. The skies would always
be blue; and all of this and so much
more, she would lovingly hand to you.

Your face would never be dirty, your
belly, forever full. She would always
keep her promises and help you achieve
your dreams; and if you couldn't do
something yourself, she would more than
likely be the means.

She would always keep you by her
side, safe from any harm; never let
you travel alone and unprotected
down the paths of this evil world, lest
you fall under some wrongdoer's charm.

She'd gladly take away your worries
and pains and thrust them upon herself;
nothing is too good for you.

She would give you everything she possibly
could and sometimes things she couldn't;
for baby, there's nothing she wouldn't do.

Upon laying you down to sleep, she
would whisper a special prayer to keep
you safe through the night.

She would kiss you on the forehead and
tell you how much you mean, then
wink and smile before leaving until
the morrow...as you slip into Love's
warm and peaceful dream.
