A Father's Love

A father's love is hard to
define. More powerful than words
could ever express, yet seemingly
contradicting to those whom it is
thrust upon.

Quite often, it is not an
unconditional, faultless love; but
even when his rightful dues aren't
given him, he tries to look the
other way and pretend...

..but his heart is heavy because
his love has been taken advantage
of.

A father must be hard and
tender at the same time. Such a
duality often confuses those
around him but frustrates himself
most of all.

He knows the harsh position he
sometimes must take to instruct
his family and would give anything
to know an easier way.

But alas, it seems that no one can learn
anything without first failing.

He only wants the best for his
family and he'll do anything he
can to get it. His family's wants
and desires are his, yet it seems
that only he knows the realistic
approach to obtain them.

While his family dreams about what
will be, the father labors in love to
make their fantasies come true.

Sometimes his responsibilities
isolate him from those he loves,
but that's the price he must pay
for a better future for his
family.

His love is full of action with
only a few occasional words; but
such a love is founded by Truth...

...which is only appreciated when
our selfish needs are cast aside
and we look into the infinite eyes of
wisdom!
