Tell Me The Truth About Love

Is it in the pair of egrets in the azure sky
Flying to an unknown destination?
Is it in the summer rains
Falling in the fissures of the earth?
Is it in the rustle of leaves
Among the pines wet with rain?
Is it in the first sight of my mother
When I opened my eyes on earth?
Is it in the infatuation of a young boy
For a young girl of the same class?
Is it in the ephemeral crush of a young man
For a young lady teacher?
Is it in the parting glance of lovers
Ending in unrequited love?
Is it in the union of two lesbian hearts
Exiled by their parents?
Or is it in the glasses of wine
We long to drink and wipe memories
From our lips?
