What Is Death Like ?

What is death like ?
Is it the rust of an aged mike ?
Is it a crack of friendship’s trust
Or the quake of the earth’s crust ?
Is it the rotation of the planets
Or baits on fishing-nets ?
Is it the fall of a leaf from the tree
Or dwelling slavery free ?
Is the stop of the journeying rains
Or the collapse of the human-brains ?
What is death like ?
Is a handcraft of God’s make
Or the ecstasy of the devil’s shake ?
O what fates await its pride and ride !
