Have You?

Have you seen the snail, slow and stupid,
Who cowers behind his shell from fears that change so rapid?
He carries his house around, like a traveling fellow.
A slave of fears, doubts, and anxiety, his face paled yellow!

This was all because of his self confidence, or the lack thereof.

But,

Have you seen the lion too, always brimming with pride?
That one day he demanded the throne, he was yet to earn.
He said, ‘ I am mighty, I am strong, and I am yet to be defied.
I am might in it’s prime, majesty incarcerate, my strength unworn.

‘I demand my kingship, for I am supreme,
Yes, I am sure, I am a being worthy of supremacy,
To have you cower beneath me and and let your praises for me flow like a stream.’

Then came the answer,
So short and simple,
Yet piercing and true:
‘ How can a beast,
Lost in his own vanity,
To care about a whole kingdom,
When his only care is so foul!

This is was all because of his self confidence, or the overflowing quantity of it.
