The Mother Earth

Home of all mortals
Devoid of sentiments
No religious acrimony
No ethnicity and tribalism.

World’s riches saves not
Though sweetness and sorrow
smile at you,
Kiths and kins starved.

The rich and the poor
Are treated alike,
Cadaver embalmed in pity
Mouth mutes to the yearnings
of the world.

The have and have-not
Share the same grave
Grave yard a reception ground
Why walk shoulder high?

At funeral feast
Casket mocked and cried for,
Friends and foes in sweet pain
Grave smiles at the casket,
Termites feast on the helpless carcass.

This, a road for all mortals
Mortals mourn the dead
The dead mocks the living
Life vanity upon vanity.

Poet's note: This poem satires the vanity of life. Man is on earth for a sojourn. Nobody lives forever. The rich and the poor share the same grave. 'Why walk shoulder hight?' Let help one another. Nobody travels with his wealth to the world beyond.
