The Hiding Place

Gathering of the wheats and the weeds
All flourishing like the lilies of the field
The scorching sun and the smiling rain
Fall on them both.

Many a wheat blossoms
As time grows old,
While some choked by the weeds
The wheats and the weeds struggle
for survival.

Religion an umbrella of deceit
Many a shepherd has led their
Sheep astray,
Dining and wining with the wolves.

Doctrines glorified
Holiness trivialized
Truth twisted for greed
Heaven is weeping.

A day is coming,
When Yahweh will separate
The wheats from the weeds
And throw them into the hades.

Poet's note: This is a religious poem that cautions all humanity to live aright with their God. The Poet Personae reminds us that religion is an umbrella that houses both the good and the bad, which he refers to as 'wheats and weeds/sheep and wolves'. The poem calls for genuine repentence from sin. Heaven and hell are real. So decide your fate.
