War

the noisy earth is silent,
With darkness overshadowed our shining sun.

the cities have locked their gates,
With the ground swallowing the keys.

the streets are painted red,
refusing the movement of its citizens.

We take to the bushes as our landlords,
Being trap like animals.

As prey to be devour,
By our pursuers.

We lament our dear ones,
With sorrowful melodies.

While running to other land for survival,
We died one after another.

We have become strangers and refugees,
In an unknown land.

Losing everything,
We have labored for.

Oh! what a tragic scene?
I have witnessed.

Poet's note: This poem is a story about the 2003 war that was fought in my country, leaving many lifeless and some homeless with critical wounds.I want to express the feelings of sorrows, and torments. To me this poem is a picture of how war is, follow by its merciless hands.
