Memories

All the times we did nothing,
Nothing but talk, are the times I miss the most.
Those times meant everything,
Everything to me. I miss them the most.
They've become memories,
Memories I'll forever cherish.

Now I sit reminiscing,
Reminiscing on our time together.
How cute you looked, always smiling.
I see you perfect teeth, hear your laughter.
They're all but memories,
Memories I'll forever cherish.

These memories come with a rush, begging.
Begging to not be forgotten, to always be remembered.
With ease, I stare back at them smiling.
Smiling, because they'll forever be remembered.
Engraved in both heart and mind, are these memories.
Memories I'll forever cherish.

Poet's note: This poem was written at a time I was thinking of someone special. I was sitting in a car on my way to town, when I was suddenly bombarded with sweet memories this person and I had together. It was a bitter sweet moment, as this person and I are separated by distance. However, I wrote this so that he'll will know that I'll never forget him. The memories we share will not allow that to happen, and I hope we get to create more memorable moments! Created on the 8th of February, 2021.
