Blink Of An Eye

My vision at times hurts and needs relief,
It finds this in the blink of an eye.
My vision darkens at times of disbelief,
This happens in a blink of an eye.

Each day I go through, I must cherish,
For each blink means one's closer to slumber.
The looming day wherein one will perish,
Each eye shut reminds me of days, numbered.

The times which pass graze my life,
Like the wind caressing my face.
Thoughts of past, present, and future strife
Make it difficult to set one's own pace.

But, for now, the clocks do still run.
Although more weathered days go by,
Seasoned players, old moments in the sun,
Memories are gone in the blink of an eye.
