Fate's Favourite
You make my day and walk away
But what saith thou son of man,
Even fate picks his favourites
The first day I saw your face
Your awe seemed to freeze the minute's hand
You make my day and walk away
The moment I close my eyes to pray
Your thoughts make my heart to stray, but
Even fate picks his favourites
The way you smile and say my name
My hands and feet begin to numb
You make my day and walk away
What if they are obsessions and are lame
Mere fanatic desire, soon to pass
Even fate picks his favourites
When uncertainty ceases my hope's way
You come on time and fit the gap
You make my day and walk away
Even fate picks his favourites
