The Remedy

He trots, his favorite friend under the nose.
He peeps through the tints
I look away and hope the driver ahead paves
Am embarrassed by his sight
My prejudice soothes my heart

I drive off, I see him on the mirror
I ponder and shed a tear
Thinking of the family, government, the sire
Do they see this?

To the dump site - his preferred restaurant
he picks, sniffs and settles.
And long before belching with 'satisfaction'
Buddies and partners in plight with grins
He shares .

We are mistaken, blind to their struggles and woes
Their future, a replication of worries
Sleepless cold nights, starvation, suspicion.
Little love, an antidote to their plight
We can borrow a leaf
Cost effective remedy - Sharing!
