Blacks Are Involved
From the cradle of life, where humanity began,
Under the African sun, on the dust and the sand,
Rose minds and hands that would shape the earth,
In science, in art, in struggle, in mirth.
The pyramids whisper of ancient lore,
Built by black hands on the Nile’s sacred shore.
Mathematics, astronomy—an African chart,
The seeds of knowledge, a black mind’s start.
Through storms of chains and shadows of night,
Blacks carried the world with indomitable might.
Cotton fields bloomed under labor's sting,
But from their sorrow, freedom would sing.
In science, their mark is etched in stone,
From George Washington Carver’s crops to the phone.
Lewis Latimer lit up the night,
With Edison’s bulb made to burn bright.
Madam Walker, the first self-made queen,
A black woman’s empire, a radiant sheen.
And Katherine Johnson reached for the stars,
Her math launched rockets, transcending bars.
In arts, they’ve painted the world in hues,
Jazz, blues, hip-hop—resounding truths.
Maya’s words soar, Baldwin ignites,
Their pens like swords in unyielding fights.
Sports fields roar with black excellence,
Ali, Serena, Usain—immense.
Records shattered, barriers torn,
In every field, new champions born.
The Ogoni weep where the rivers run black,
Our land stripped bare, the oil’s cruel track.
But Ken Saro Wiwa rose with a voice so strong,
Against greed and ruin, exposing the wrong.
For the Niger’s soil and her children’s dreams,
He faced the gallows to halt toxic streams.
His fight, undying, a beacon remains,
Of justice sought through unbearable pains.
The struggle for justice, the fight to be free,
King’s dream, Mandela’s decree.
They carved a path where hope could thrive,
Teaching the world how to survive.
Blacks are involved in the threads of this earth,
In every advance, in every rebirth.
From the depths of the past to the stars above,
The world is shaped by their unyielding love.
Let the history sing, let the future proclaim,
Blacks are involved in humanity’s name.
A force of creation, a story untold,
A people of fire, both brave and bold.
