Love's Dilemma

She left you in a gloomy mood
With a pain in your heart.
The excitement is long gone
and only lonely days are left for you to bear.
That's love for you; the burden of the soul.
You are now lost in the sea of confusion.
Waiting for another adventure
to lighten your pain.
What lesson have we learned about love?
A million lessons but making the same mistake
of loving again.
When shall we be free from this illusion
that last for only a short time.
Love is really overrated.
You put in much and get little in return.
Making sacrifices that brings little profit.
Can we really get enough of love?
I have searched my heart a million times
for the answer.
We are all searching for love.
Even searching in places where it cannot be found.
Still in pain but still searching for love.
