Undone.
We were but one being, entwined and immersed.
Both souls bound, you in I and I in you.
Like the sea, salt mixed in water, submerged.
A reality, tagged fallacy yet true.
Like number seven, vague without each stroke.
Like five and six, nothing comes in between.
Closely knit, singles gaze and say "e choke"
A bond unsevered since we were fourteen.
One plus one, flouting maths to equal one.
Our story, a tale, magic with no wand.
Our love, one nobody could make undone.
Sadly, time waltzed in with a ton of sand.
Stealthily, distrust danced in, its aim to alter.
I guess not all fairy tales end with "happily ever after."
