The Breach Of Innocence

at the dusk of childhood,
i watched as the twilight erode -
a street of stars - no greater
than shattered glass
taped to the festering sky,
oozing -
as the darkness reigned
from the crevice
of a wound - handstiched
to conceal the rue,
brewing by the hour

at the cusp of dawn,
i bid farewell - to the bird
drowning in the archived
sorrow beneath my ribcage
ah, child i'm sorry,
if only i'd said - if only I'd known,
this dainty world has more
than you have seen - blindfolded
don't hold your breath,
there is beauty
