The Sailor

I feel terrible when I see myself failing
failing when I already saw myself sailing
sailing to the top where I heard people hailing
hailing someone they felt was never trailing

and I asked myself" who are they hailing?
I didn't even assume I was the one because I saw myself trailing
another question, should I keep sailing?
should I keep trying and keep failing?

negative thoughts and imaginations got me draining
day and night my eyes kept raining
what should I do? i kept fraining
so I decided to give myself a training.

knowing life is tough
feeling it path is rough
accepting the fact that when it's worst I can cough
but still believe in all, my strength was enough
and that was how the battle was fought.

now I believe I was never trailing
now I know I was the one they were hailing
now I see the need to keep sailing
now I know I have always been a winner and was never failing.

Poet's note: The moment I realized I was never failing but sailing, my confidence came back.
