Venus

Since I have seen her luster low and near
And warm and intimate within thine eyes,
Far Venus in her skies
Is fair as any star of Paradise.

But now thou hast departed, many a tear
Bedims her glory when she goes upon
The ways where thou art gone-
Westward and autumnward in silence drawn.
