Child Of The Moment

I am a child of the moment
Future false and past unfolded.
Ignoble pain turn friendly caller
Slumbers fear a gauzy wraith
by dawn’s amber flame

Such a child of the moment
Riches dreamt angers foment
Justice sought with no truce to guilt
Lessons taken yet no truth rebuilt

What pleases is the here and now
A Summer’s breeze, a minutes pleasure
Winter’s toll sullen grey
What is learned has no measure

I am a child of the moment
The heretofore lay forsaken
Golden future spread before
span nary more than moments past

I am a child of this moment.
