New Hope

I stand here all night, in a constant fight
A battle of the mind and will over might
I fall each time, like a ringing chime
Deluding myself that I'm fine
Saying this cycle is mine
A blindfold covering my eyes
To all the lies that cloud my mind

He reaches out, touches my cheek
It so warm, so warm, and, I'm so, so bleak
My reality shatters
With a broken heart I stagger
I need something that matters
He wraps me in his arms,
I am enveloped by a glow
I am like a child and time is slow
My eyes lift and hope is restored
Shining like the sun, He says, I am Lord

Poet's note: My First Poem- I was doing my homework, and out of nowhere I felt inspired by the holy spirit to write a poem, about what God did in my life.
