Love That Won't Leave And Won't Come Back
Why can't you just tell me you love me still
That I wasn't just another run of the mill
That I actually meant something to you just like you did me
Or was I truly just a burden that you've been freed of
I want you back
I want your touch
I want your love
I'd rather have that than anything under the sun
So yes
Yes I'm looking at old messages
Yes I'm imagining you holding me as I try to sleep
Yes I'm thinking about you with every single one of these sentences
Please come back
Come home
Come into my arms where you are truly known
Come back not because you want to
But because I need you
Yes it's true
Is that so hard to believe?
Even though I was ignored
Pushed to the side
Nothing in the world other than you will leave me cured
Even though I'm almost positive you lied
Your memory lingers in all that I do
Yes
Yes goddamnit it's true.

Poet's note: I wrote this poem about an ex not quite boyfriend. I want to express a mourning for the fact that I can't tell if he wants me back or not.
