One Africa

We were once victims altogether
Once slaves in our homeland
The struggle, we fought together
Fought against the unjust systems
Fought for freedom and change

All pain and agony we shared
Locked up in the same jail
Handcuffed to the same chain
Yoked to the same iron yoke
Whipped with the same sjambok

Now the enemy is vanquished
So must be greediness and hatred
Let peace and unity define our brotherhood
Same colour, same genealogical roots
One Africa, one continent, one identity
