Cross

At the foot of the cross I come
With an empty heart craving for spiritual fullness
I bow down to seek the tender mercy and forgiveness
From Jesus who endured the Cross

Scorning its shame for the joy set before Him
He shed his redeeming blood at Calvary
Found in appearance of man
He humbled himself in total obedience to death
Even the death on the Cross

Pierced
Agonized
Dead
He brought salvation

Out of His great love
Burning like fire in his heart
His satisfying blood sanctified us
Cleansing of all the impurities: of mind, body, and heart

I sing of the invaluable Cross
Where my sin was forgiven.

Poet's note: The poem talks about the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was written in 2020 for everyone who believes the power of the Cross. I want to express my gratitude for the work our Lord Jesus Christ did for dying on the Cross in order to set mankind free from sin. I have been encouraged to believe that indeed through the cross at Calvary, salvation is given and my Savior finished everything.
