The Moonlit

The dusk arrives,

the shadows dance,
Ukukhanya kwesibani kuqala ukukhanya.

The lamplight starts to flash and glance.

Ukukhanya kwenyanga,
umsakazo wenyanga,
The moonlight gleams,

the moonbeam streams,

Inkazimulo enkulu egcwalisa umhlaba.
An effulgence great that fills our dreams.
Izikhanyiso ezincane zindiza ebusuku,

The little fireflies fly through the night,

Ukukhanya okungashisi,
ukucwazimula kwazo.
A cool luminescence,

a steady glow so bright.

Ukukhanya kwezinkanyezi kukhanya phezulu,
The starlight shines high up above,
Isikhanyiso semvelo esilinda ubuthongo.

A natural luminary watching with love.
