Pattern

I swear it's the same thing everyday
These four walls have grown thicker
They are even colder
And just dead
They don't speak anymore

And the windows forever welcoming
Fresh air into these gloomy walls
Every morning as I let the sun in
The winds soothing me
It's a feeling I cannot explain
How I witness this almost
Every single day
And still feel special

The door ready to lock out
All the bad energy
And sometimes unsuccessfully
As I still feel sad deep down
It's all a roller coaster
Of mixed emotions
Suicidal thoughts and just lost hope

In this space I'm reminded
Of my everyday life
The same old
"The usual"
As out goers would say at a regular bar
Cleaning the surface
Wiping away yesterday
And welcoming today

It's a chorus
Drilled into my head
Never forgetting
Breathing for as long as I can
Saying grace before I sleep

And tomorrow won't be any different
Forever grateful for the breathes I take.

Poet's note: I remember writing this poem... I was in my bed and just thinking about how life can get so busy and quite too. Days spent at home and doing the same thing all over again. It's like a pattern, a chorus of a song. I just know what tomorrow will bring... Without the surprises and stunts. It's the same thing with work. You already know what you'll do tomorrow and the day after. Just with a little twist to it. Life is so predictable
