Baseness-by A Broken Girl

All the books I read on love
Told me lies, that I see now.
The knightly tales of valor and delight
Now the stories of squalor and slight.
The beautiful dreams with my Romeo
Had my body trembling for tryst.
Filled my mind day and night
And me waiting by the window side.
Life has lost its love and lustre
More than my soul can muster.
