Spiritual Need
There is inadequacy within me
There is hunger that keeps haunting
A thirst that lacks fill
For I have experienced such a gap.
I groan in nights for need of an encounter
But my flesh limits me from what I need
For my needs are spiritual
My body is clothed
But the need is insatiable
My body is fed
But not with what I need.
My eyes see
But aren't satisfied with what they desire.
Money have I got
But not enough of what I need.
Though I believe if I meet my Redeemer
My heart will be at peace
Hail Father! My heart is contrite
For my spirit is in need.
Fill my heart with abundance.
Quench my thirst with waters that flow from your throne.
For then I will be strengthened, renewed, established and flourish.
To you in whom my roots are established
Do I make such a prayer.
