Wish Upon A Moon | Abigail Gelant

I watch you from my window
growing fuller by the night.
Even when your half full,
you stil seem to shine bright.
I wish I could reach out and take you as my own.
I'd put you under my pillow and take you out when I feel alone.
I bet you see a lot from way up high where you are,
tell me ,were you once as well a star?
You've seen millions live and millions die,
battels lost and battels won
Do you ever feel like saying"that's it.I'm done?"
Oh, how I wish I could grab you and run
My beautiful night time sun.

Poet's note: I wrote this poem while watching the moon from my window. The words to this poem is how I feel when seeing the moon. So far away yet it seems I could just reach out and touch it.
