Illuminated Isolation

Michael McGuire

I must travel into the Wilderness and
leave all physical possessions behind. The
tempters of vice, begone! I must cleanse
my soul with nature's purity and loving
embrace.

Sleep out under night's crystal spheres
of light and bathe in their subtle glow of
inner warmth!

Welcome all brothers and sisters whom I
meet on the trail to Paradise with my undying
kindness and sincerity, but only if
they believe in Truth!

If not, I'll gladly show them how and where they
can find it by taking Insight as a guide and informative
host along the journey to that which is already
subconsciously known to them.

Forget all about Society's troubles and
toils and become a part of the living Earth!

Just now am I truly learning to live in Freedom!
0 God, why have I waited until this
moment to repent and beg for rebirth?

I must quench my thirst with water drawn
from illuminated streams, rivers and ponds,
then feast from the table of Nature's banquet
everlasting, which has been set by the
wave of God's omnipotent wand!

Become naturally perceptive once again
and merge as ONE with ALL living things;
yes - transcend!

Clouds will be my roof-top, as will trees
and dark mountain caves to grant my skin
soothing shade from the piercing Sun.

And maybe, every now and then, a little forest
nymph will come along; and being under her
persuasive spell, I'll get thoroughly laid
in her treetop castle for fun!

O What folly there lies in the future
unfathomed!
