How Much Do You Know Your Words?

Gilbert Sordebabari

How much you know your words
Is how much you know your world.
For how much you could craft a tale
Is how much you could tell the tale.

Words shape dreams, bright and bold,
Turning silence into stories told.
They bridge the gap between mind and heart,
Giving wisdom a place to start.

A gentle phrase can heal a soul,
While sharp remarks may take their toll.
Choose wisely what you let take flight,
For words can bring both dark and light.

They build the bridges time can’t break,
Or walls that leave us in their wake.
A whisper shared, a vow once spoken,
Can mend what's torn or leave it broken.

Through ink-stained lines or quiet breath,
Words wage wars or stave off death.
They spark revolutions, guide the lost,
And teach that peace is worth the cost.

In laughter's echo, sorrow's moan,
They make the vast world feel like home.
The power rests within our hands—
To plant new seeds or scorch the lands.

So wield your words with steady grace,
Let kindness be their truest face.
For how much you know their worth
Is how much you shape your earth.
